Mazovia. Heart of Poland

Mazovia or Masovia (Polish: Mazowsze) is a historical region in Poland. It is spread over the Mazovian Lowland, on both sides of the Vistula river. It is a low-lying region. Forests cover one-fifth of the Mazovia. Two-thirds of the region’s residents live in cities, mainly in Warsaw – the capital city. Contemporary borders of the Mazovian Voivodeship do not reflect exactly original shape of Mazovia region, but are roughly similar. (Map Source: Wikipedia)
